Roman Stadtler
Comics Historian

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away . . .

R'oman St'adtler ("Starkiller," though some say the translation is closer to "Starwuss" or "Sabrefumbler") was a mediocre and slightly irresponsible Jedi, who was passed out in a remote Barsoomian pleasure castle, after an ill-advised night of carousing with some disreputable Tharks. Hidden under a pile of clothing, gladiatorial gear, and empty Cardassian Muscovite Turbo glasses, he was spared the depredations of Order 66. Eventually, using a Transtemporalspatialwhatsiswhozit Hole, R'oman escaped to Sol 3, Milky Way Galaxy, the African land mass, but he arrived de-aged (freakin' time hole!) to an infant. The Sol 3 year was 1969. Found and adopted by a bereaved ape mother, he knew love and jungle grooviness. And didn't have to wear any clothes! Whoo-hoo!

Until(!), leaving a jungle show of The Mark of Zorro (acted by foxes, natch!), his parents were murdered by a desperate hyena! tak tak tak tak, The teeth of his mother's broken crocodile tooth necklace fell, slow-motion, forever—like some iconic moment repeated ad nauseam, as the hyena's laughter echoed in young R'oman's mind.

Later, mustering all his latent Jedi abilities, coupled with his burgeoning jungle skills, he jumped a steamer to America, where young master R'oman immersed himself in comics, movies, and pop culture to try to understand how best to become a crazed vigilante justice-monger. Using his ape pop's wealth from the ape clan's hidden diamond mine, he filled his forcetastic brain with vast comics knowledge and trivia. That is his boomstick. Now, Roman (the Earth spelling; and if you spell it backwards, it means "Avenging Son" in Atlantean! So mind your p's and q's around this mad ape-skilled Jedi!) strives for the betterment of society by applying his bombastic bits of heroic history at The Comics Place, Bellingham, WA, USA, Earth (Sol 3), Milky Way.

At night, he patrols the rain-soaked .., well no, he mainly reads more comics. But he fantasizes about pummeling evil-doers, and fighting for our rights in his satin tights!
